Wedding attire – great improvement!

So, here is the list, and the changes…

1)

  • Call my aunt to ask her if I can spend the night at their place on the wedding night (she’ll say yes, but I need to do it)    To do.
  • Take the dress to the seamstress so she shortens it for a few inches/centimeters //Done! It’s there!
  • Decide what am I going to wear over the dress. I am think a bolero jacket, but I don’t think anything I have would do. Bought!! It’s perfect, 3/4 sleeves, light pink and it matches the dress! And I bought it with vouchers that I had, so I didn’t spend any money 🙂
  • Do weights every day so my arms look toned. I don’t care, I am sure I can get some sort of result in two weeks! To do. It’s all my bro’s fault, he is supposed to find them in his room, and he hasn’t yet. So I’ll really go hard core this week.
  • Figure out where they sell double stick tape, The dress is more low cut than it looks, and I don’t want my bra to peek out.          To do.
  • Decide what I’ll do with my hair; a sorta soft mohawk or use some hairband, or ribbon tied like a headband…I emailed the pics of what I got to my friend, and she had the brilliantest idea – I can use the scrap of fabric that my seamstress gave to me so I could buy the remaining stuff, and use it as a hair accessorie!!
  • Makeup???          To do. I’ll experiment a bit this week. I think I’ll go apricot + gold on the eyes. It sounds awful, pink  + apricot, but it works on the dress (I think and hope and pray!!)

2)

  • Self tanner – no need! I’ll wear stockings anyway, and as far as back, hand and front go – I’ll use sparkles. I don’t know how it’s called; it’s a spray and it makes your skin sparkle. I have two version, a very subtle one and very obvious one, I have to test it to see what works better. Subtle one, probably.
  • Shoes – Bought!!!!  They are cheap shoes, but the style, the color and heal are perfect! I can’t belive how the shoes match the jacket, it’s perfect! And I am braking one of my biggest no-no’s here. Peep toes and stockings. But the peep is really small,so – a)my toes don’t really show and b) the stocking also don’t show. So I think I’ll live.
  • A clutch  – No need. I’ll borrow one.
  • Headband /ribbon – Solution found 🙂

I also bought stockings (two pairs, sheer/golden) and those gel thingies that you put in the shoes so your feet don’t start killing you after an hour.

I’ll start practicing and breaking the shoes in tomorrow, because I wore my other shoes – heels – two days n a row now (while shopping for a jacket and shoes) and my feet are killing me.

All in all, I am very very happy with my purchases  – how they look and how much they cost and how appropriate they are.

The wedding I

  • Loved the dress, like everybody
  • sister looked smashing
  • wanted more emotions in the church – shaky hands, a tear or two in the eyes, more personal wows
  • wasn’t harry suppose to have a speech??
  • Queen is one cold woman. A hint of a smile here and there, that is all. Even Camilla took her granddaughter in her arms!
  • Two kisses, you gotta love them 🙂

Vampires galore. Yes, again :)

I hurried along to finish skimming Lover avenged today, because I wanted to be reminded of what happened, even though it was torture not diving straight into Lover mine, I am happy I did it. All the books are so…intewoven, and I had to be reminded of what happened with John and Xhex, what stupid Lash has been up to, and of Payne.

And now I am 200 pages into, and have 300 more to read.

There is nothing better than being totally into the book, and knowing there is so much more still to come!!! Nothing.

Making fun of RN

Since I am talking so much about romance novels this week, read this for compensation.

Yes, a lot of people make fun of RN, and usually those people have never read any of it. But people who read it with passion and love it, we have every right to see its flaws. Yes, there are flaws, like in everything – but it doesn’t shadow its qualities. So that is why the link is for. For us.

And BTW – go on and stuff it, haters!

Less than two weeks untill the wedding!

Here is the list of things I need to 1)take care off 2) buy.

1)

  • Call my aunt to ask her if I can spend the night at their place on the wedding night (she’ll say yes, but I need to do it)
  • Take the dress to the seamstress so she shortens it for a few inches/centimeters

  • Makeup???

2)

  • Self tanner
  • Shoes
  • A clutch
  • Headband /ribbon

This list will probbably get altered in the upcoming days…

Books books books!!!!!!! ! ! !!

I don’t know why I feel funny linking my own posts – well, this is a part II of my Vampires here I come post.

I found another site with books. Lots of books.

I am making a list of the available ones, the authors I want, and having  A BLAST. Just so you know.

And I am keeping vampires for later. Historicals for now, for warming up. I love contemporary more, so I am starting with the tame (ok, boring 🙂  ) ones, lol.

Yes I am ethnically conflicted. Very.

Tapioca crepes II

My previous attempt  – making crepes with rice flour failed. Big time. Lumps everywhere. But I did use the pancake cup. This time, I used a mixer. Maybe that is the trick. (can’t find anything nline to show what a pancake cup is, sorry).

I am having a love affair with tapioca flour right now. I made pudding and pancakes this week!!

The recipe;

1 egg – recipe says 2 🙂

2tsp water – I used milk ((Gb says; use more. Waaaaaaay more!! )) Because the recipe really say 2 CUPS of milk.

1/2 cup tapioca flour

vanilla (forgot what the recipe says. We have this vanilla sugar bags, and I always use one in every baked thingy I do. )

The first time I made them – I only used a few splashes of milk, and it was very thick, so i said to myself “add more milk next time”. But they tasted great!! I also added a little xanthan gum.

Rule with crepes -MAKE IT WAIT. I only waited 10 minutes, and it got way thicker. So wait!! Let it rest for about an hour, the best is in the fridge.

So, yesterday I went for it again, made the batter a few hours earlier, used 2 cups of milk, poured the batter, waited, thought it must be done on one side, wanted to flip it over…No go. It all glued together when I flipped it. With next one, I made it thicker, because I thought maybe it was too thin in the pan and that is why it doesn’t want to flip.  Nope. Wasn’t that either. I ended it up eating as a schmarn. It’s sort of when you do a thick crepe batter, than you “rip” it apart with spatula. It was my attempt to save the crepe. Again, it didn’t work, It was a pile of gooey sticky mess.

I have up at that point. I was so disappointed, that a day ago, I finally made a GF recipe that worked, and the next day it didn’t. There was some batter still left, and I’ll add some rice flour to this one, and maybe it will be better. Something resembling crepes would be great.

Sight. GF cooking sucks. I don’t want to look for the light at the end of the tunnel or poring the half full glass. It sucks.
